It is totally astounding what goes on behind closed doors in the BIG corporations in the United States of America. We know how corrupt and greedy officials and corporations in other countries are. But in America we think that big business has held to a higher moral standard. But In resent years we have begun to see how blind and foolish we have been. We have believed the false word of these companies. But greed and money have been their moral stand after all, not people and families. From our point of view the things we cherish do not seem important to them.
Everybody knows how bad smoking or chewing of tobacco products are for peoples health. But for years the Tobacco Companies lied and said it was not harmful. Even though they had the research that said other wise. Because their greed was so great. That has not changed.
The Massachusetts Department of Public Health has revealed that from 1998 to2004. That cigarette manufactures increased the amount of addictive nicotine delivered to the average smoker by 10%. In 2004 they tested 179 brands of cigarettes 166 fell into the highest nicotine yield range, 59 of those brands were labeled light and 14 were labeled ultra-light. The most popular brands - Marlboro, Newport and Camel - brands that are popular with young smokers all delivered significantly high nicotine levels as the years passed. Almost all brands were found to deliver a high enough dose to cause heavy dependence.
It is astounding to discover how easy it has been for cigarette manufacturers to increase public consumption of nicotine without any one finding out about it till a Massachusetts law, that forces tobacco companies to report test results showing how much nicotine a typical smoker inhales while smoking. Massachusetts blew the whistle on the company's. They had designed their cigarettes to score low when using the government smoking machines by placing tiny ventilation holes in the filter to dilute the smoke. But the machines fail to mimic real-life smoking. When Massachusetts required the manufactures to use what it considered more realistic method. The nicotine yields were more than twice those in the standard tests.
The conclusion of a Washington federal judge who had recently concluded that the tobacco companies had designed cigarettes to produce low nicotine readings on the standard test while still delivering enough nicotine to create and sustain addiction was born out by the Massachusetts report. Evidence of what looked like a desperate effort to hook new and young smokers and to prevent older smokers from quitting by sneakily making cigarettes more addictive.
The fact that they have plotted to keep long time smokers and new smokers alike addicted to their product should make every smoker hoppin mad . Revolt smokers show them you can beat their tricks, and force them into bankrupcy by quiting today. Don't let them get the victory because of their greediness.
